LITTLE BRANCHES
CURRICULUM
Our educational curriculum is designed by a university Early Childhood Teacher in collaboration with Diploma and Certificate III trained educators. Our educators take a holistic approach to teaching and learning and focus on the children’s physical, personal, social, emotional, creative, cognitive and spiritual well-being.
Little Branches embraces the Early Years Learning Framework and is dedicated to work collaboratively with the children, families and community to implement and reflect upon the principles, practices and learning outcomes in our daily program and practices. Our educators will use the framework to develop learning programs responsive to children’s ideas, interests, strengths and abilities and recognise that children learn through their play.
Through the Framework’s five learning outcomes educators will assist your child to develop:
A strong sense of their identity
Connections with their world
A strong sense of wellbeing
Confidence and involvement in their learning; and
Effective communication skills
Accompanying the framework are the 8 Little Branches Programs. Our educators provide opportunities for the children to be engaged in a variety of experiences throughout the day, both planned and spontaneous centred around these 8 programs. There is a balance between child and educator initiated opportunities with an emphasis on intentional teaching. The educators plan the environment and learning experiences based on reflective observation, discussion, assessment and evaluation to meet the strengths, interests and emerging skills and learning of each child.
Our learning programs promote the following:
A balance of experiences that cater for all areas of development and learning.
Opportunities for children to make realistic choices and work together.
An environment that encourages and supports communication, interaction, exploration and environmental appreciation.
Individual, small and large group play.
Routine experiences that are seen as opportunities for learning and social interaction.
Experiences and investigations to prepare children for their next step in life and learning.

Preschool Program
As a parent, preparing for your child’s transition to school can be a confronting time, feeling the pressure to ensure your child has the very best start to school life. Not only do you want your child to be intellectually ready for the transition to school, but emotionally capable as well.
Little Branches believes it is important for children to have good social skills and to be confident learners. These are the skills that will allow the children to flourish, to be happy and successful learners.
Little Branches offers a preschool program on a daily basis as part of the curriculum. Our educators assist each child in transitioning to big school through a variety of play-based learning experiences, promoting the children’s interests and natural curiosities in a positive learning environment.
Our Little Schoolies preschool program focuses on developing your child’s skills in several key learning areas:
Social and Emotional Development
Language and Literacy
Science & Technology
Engineering & Mathematics (Numeracy)
The Arts: Art, Dance, Drama & Music
Social Studies: History & Geography
